Fire Bolt V2 / Prone Foil Board

THE DESIGN

The Fire Bolt was conceived by Scot McNally “Foil Wizard” and designed by John in John’s North Shore workshop. The idea was to create the highest performing board on the planet. This design is narrower than most performance foil boards. The beveled rail on the Fire Bolt is pulled further out into the bottom, this takes a lot of swing weight off of the rails and gives even more clearance in radical turns. 

Fire Bolt V2:

Why change something that already works insane? To make it slightly more insane! The V2 has mast tracks pushed further up (4’2’’ @ 6’’, 4’6’’ @ 6.5’’ and 4’10’’ at 7’’) compared to the original. This gives the advanced rider the opportunity to move the foil further up, enhancing performance in turns and pumping. The Fire Bolt V2 has slimmed down. V2 at the waist now measures 17.75’’ (4’2’’), 18’’ (4’6’’) and 18.5’’ (4’10’’). This narrower outline increases the sensitivity both in turns and pumping. Other benefits to the narrower outline are extra clearance in hard turns and a straighter outline reducing “stick” when touching down either in hard turns or flat landings.

FEATURES

Foot Strap Inserts: The Fire Bolt comes with foot strap inserts for those who want to boost in the surf, tow in to swell or even fly with their wind wing. To minimize weight we have built the Fire Bolt with one row of inserts down the center to accommodate regular or goofy stance.

Concave Deck: The concave deck gives the rider rock solid control with every input of heel and toe being translated directly into the foil. This gives the Fire Bolt an incredibly sensitive feel.

Beveled Rail: The bevel rail design gives more clearance between the rail and water when laying over into turns. This rail design also helps recover and rebound after touching down in a hard turn.

Kick Tail: A new addition to the Fire Bolt is the kick tail. This tail allows the rider to kick the board up onto the foil much sooner than a flat tail. The kick tail also gives more clearance in steeper waves and in hard turns.

Tail Pad: Amundson Customs is proud to introduce the new corduroy cut rear deck pad. This pad is less aggressive than a traditional pad, reducing rash but increasing grip.

“Lift Stick”: Every board comes with a “Lift Stick” or mast placement measurement logo. This logo helps gauge placement of you mast. The Lift Stick has a + and – to indicate more lift (+ moving mast forward) or less lift (- moving mast back).  

Mounting Hardware: Your board comes with high quality M8 stainless steel foil mounting hardware.

NEW Ultra Light VACUUM CARBON CONSTRUCTION!

These foil boards are built with a high density EPS core that is CNC machined and hand finished. The finished blank is then fitted with a shock absorbing/load spreading high density PVC foam plate with flanged mast tracks, this assures a very strong connection between your board and foil. The Fire Bolt is laminated with a high quality carbon fiber and then cured under vacuum pressure. What this means, excess epoxy is removed for lightness and carbon weave is compressed together for a high degree of stiffness. The board is finished with high quality polyurethane paint. Not only does this construction look beautiful, it is light and stiff for ultimate performance. 

WHO IS THIS BOARD FOR?

The Fire Bolt is designed for the advanced rider looking for the lightest, stiffest and most advanced foil board possible. This design is for the small to medium sized riders and larger riders who are strong paddlers. The Fire Bolt works best for high performance wave riding, downwind, wake foiling and beach/dock start pumping.
